If I click close, then it loads as normal, with limited functionality. What gives.

Hi,
did you recently perform an update? Usually this means there was a download problem for a specific module during an update.
Please go to the Programs and Features section of the Windows control panel and select PDF Architect from the list and press uninstall/modify. Then press “repair” and complete the procedure. Afterwards it should be fixed.
If this doesn’t help, please try a complete uninstall/reinstall.

After reporting this issue, my SW prompted me to install the new version of PDF4 so I did without issue. I wish your repair program would hint that it was going to restart the PC…but we will survive. Thanks for the prompt answer.
