Adding x86 drivers to windows 2008 R2 64 bit server

I have successfully installed PDF Creator/Architect to a Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server. I would like to add the 32 bit x86 drivers. I can’t find any .inf file. How do I add the 32 x86 drivers to a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit server?

Hi,

did you install in server mode? (choose expert settings->server mode during setup)

Robin

I did use expert settings. In fact, I just uninstalled it and re installed it to be certain. I checked the box that allows me to choose to add Windows XP 32 drivers. After the install is done, I see PDF Architect (Not PDF Creator). When I click on the printer called PDF Architect, and click on additional drivers under the share tab, I see a box to check for the 32 bit drivers, but it says not installed. If I click the box to add those drivers, I get a pop up window asking me for the location of the drivers. How do I get around this? I actually installed the same software on a 32 bit Windows 7  workstation and shared it. On the server, this shared workstation printer has the 32 bit drivers installed…how do I get them to go to the Server installation???

Hi,

the PDF Architect is our PDF editor, this gets installed additionally if not deselected from the list of components during the setup. A PDFCreator printer should also get created in any case, if not something during the setup failed, in which case please send us your setuplog.txt (gets created in the pdfcreator main folder druing setup).

I have this same problem.  The 64-bit drivers get installed.  If I try to add 32-bit it asks for the location.  I found the .inf file for ghostscript but Windows says it doesn’t have the right driver.  What’s the solution??

Hi,

currently server mode is only available in versions < 1.9 , which version did you install?

Can I install an additional x86 driver, if I have PDF Creator version 2.0.2?

Hi,

if you are planning to run PDFCreator on a server, you currently need version 1.7.3 and select expert settings-server mode during the setup, this way you can add additional drivers.
