Copy and Pasting Text into Filename when creating PDF doesn't work

Ok, so this is really annoying to me. I've been using my computer as my "virtual filing system" for years. About 50% of the stuff, I scan in and 50% of the stuff comes in through e-mail and websites that I use PDFCreator to print to a PDF. Any important e-mails I put in the format of .pdf so I just do something like this... 2012-04-22 Bank of America "e-mail subject line" . That worked for a very long time. Some reason lately if I paste anything into the filename of the pdfcreator file, it fails when it creates the file. When I get the progress bar, a normal pdf creation takes a few seconds to create. When I copy and paste the file, the progress bar goes by really fast but it never creates the PDF.

As an example, when I'm creating a PDF filename, if I type in 2012-04-22 Bank of America then paste in the “Statement Due” part of it so it appears 2012-04-22 Bank of America Statement Due.pdf as the file name, it will fail. But if I type in 2012-04-22 Bank of America Statement Due and not paste in “Statement Due” then it succeeds.

I was thinking, well it must be cutting and pasting some special characters that aren't compatible and it's making it fail. So, as a test, I was creating the filename in notepad and then copying and pasting it out of there into PDF creator and it fails still as much. The only way for me to do it is to type it by hand.

It had always worked up to about 6 months ago and I don't know what happened but it must've been a new revision of PDF creator broke it.

Hi,

i did some testing (I copied and pasted "statement Due" from your post into the filename) but could not reproduce the error, but it is very unlikely that it is the actual copying and pasting, if you enter a bad character then you will get an error message. Which version of PDFCreator and Windows are you running?

Robin

PDF Creator is version 1.3.1.  Should be pretty receint.  Seems like every other day, PDF Creator is asking me to upgrade.

For Windows, it's Windows 7 (32 bit.)

Hi,

yes there have been updates quite frequently in the last 2 months, but version 1.3.1 had some bugs that were fixed in 1.3.2, so please try using 1.3.2. If the error still occurs, please contact us again and we will help solving the problem.

regards,

Robin
