How can I still use PDF Creator to generate my pdf but NOT open the pdf after it has been created?

depending which version you are using there is a setting for this in different places.
In version 1.9.x this can be set under profile settings->save and in version 1.7.x you can set this on the PDFCreator save dialog or in options->program->autosave if using autosave mode.
