I created a PDF of a long document (PhD) thesis - no problem. I went
through it in detail, & corrected some errors in the original Word
(2007) document, then tried to create a PDF again. No PDF was created,
& the original document was printed out in full. I allowed it to
“set PDF Creator as default printer on both occasions” - but got very
different results. Seems to be a serious flaw.
I used Windows XP Professional, btw, & the latest PDF Creator, downloaded today.
Hi,
Hi Robin,
After downloading PDF Creator & Architect, I right-clicked on my Word (docx) file & chose "Create PDF with PDF Creator." A dialogue box appeared asking me to select PDF Creator as my default printer. I clicked OK, & a PDF was created, first time. I examined the PDF, looking for errors, found a few, & corrected them in the original word document. Then I tried to create a PDF again by the same method, but it didn't work. Each time, after I clicked OK in the same dialogue box (that asked me to select PDF Creator as my default printer) the document started to print. I couldn't find any way to get around this, to create a PDF. My solution was to go to my university network & do the conversion there (they use PDF Creator). There seems to be some sort of bug in the software, & I thought I'd let ou know about it. I have created PDFs on the same machine with older verions of PDF Creator.
Patrick.
