PDFCreator-3_2_1-Setup.exe /ForceInstall /LOADINF=custom.ini /NOCLOSEAPPLICATIONS /NORESTART

Merci d'avance.

Hi,

starting with PDFCreator 3.2 it is no longer to install PDFCreator free silently if the machine is part of a domain, could this be the issue? If not, the setup should create a setulog file in your %temp% folder even if it fails, which might help to find out why it is failing.

Best regards

Robin

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance.

Hi,

sorry I wasn't being very detailed. The silent installation is only blocked for PDFCreator free and Plus, the business editions can still be installed silently. There is no workaround to install the current 3.2 freeware or PDFCreator Plus 3.2 silently if the machine is part of a domain. More info on PDFCreator Business is located here: https://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator/business

Best regards

Hi,

the setup is pretty complex and repackaging it could lead to any kind of malfunction or even damage the system, we will not be able to supply any form of support for repackaged setups.

You could alternatively purchase a PDFCreator Business license, the restriction only applies to the freeware and plus editions. The Business Edition already offers a proper MSI for easy deployment.

Robin, we have understood that PDFForge want to be payed and don't want to offer anymore a PDFCreator free for companies. But I think a lot of companies have choosen PDFCreator because it was free and opensource. They will find an alternative way to install it or to create PDF.

It is still free and open source, only the ability to deploy it silently to any number of machines inside a domain has been blocked, as described in the above link
"A large proportion of “PDFCreator Free” and “PDFCreator Plus” installations is made as silent installations in companies. We have always been happy to help any user who contacted our support and we still are, but installations in corporate networks often need more support than on a single computer. At the same time, the silent installations do not show any advertisements, which we use to cover our expenses for the support and development team.

We therefore moved the ability of silent installation to the PDFCreator business editions. From version 3.2.1 on silent installations are no longer supported in “PDFCreator Free” and “PDFCreator Plus”. We kindly ask for your understanding and hope that the advances possibilities, the prioritized support and the very affordable price are the right value for your company."
