Extract images from an encripted file

I have created from Word 2003 an encripted file using pdfcreator 1.3.2 with maximum security (pdf 1.6 AES 128 bit, no permission at all, no password to open file).

Surprisingly, I can extract images from such file using NitroReader 2.3.1.2. Extraction or copying is not allowed on text. Security settings report that no operation is allowed.

Is encription only working on text? If the answer is yes, how is possible to encript images in pdf?

there is no way to ensure that users who can open the PDF can´t also extract images from it, regardless of any security settings. It depends on the reader which is used, how easy or difficult this is, in any case it is possible by simply making a screenshot.
