Files for PDFCreator being intercepted by a windows 7 photo print wizard

Hi;

Files (jpgs) that I want to list in PDFcreator so I can then combine them into a single document are being intercepted by Windows 7 PhotoViewer as the photoprintwizard.
This was not happening a few days ago.

Here are some screen shoots (all three links go to the same place):

I am using version 1.5.1

I have reinstalled PDFCreator twice which has changed nothing.  I even deleted a few suspicious registry entries, also with no effect.

I booted into a dos interface and renamed all photowiz.dll files to photowiz_dll but all that did was cause the Windows Photo Viewer to be called directly when I tried to add *.jpg files to pdfcreator.

Also, here is a copy of the beginning of a HUGE registry key I tried to delete (but it just recreated itself):

Any help in making this stop would be appreciated.

Hi,

as a first solution you can try using images2pdf which comes together with PDFCreator if you have Net2.0 installed.
You can also take a look in your registry and find out what the shell print command for .jpegs does, maybe something you installed or updated changed this.

regards,

Robin

OK.  I tried Image2pdf which produces blank pages from *.jpg’s (at least as far as Foxit is concerned).  So I converted my test files to *.png and then I got proper pdf file output :-), so I have a work around thanks.

Note that PDFCreator itself calls the windows photo print wizard for both *.jpg and *.png files so my wizard interception problem appears to be at the level of all image files, not just *.jpg’s.

The
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\jpegfile\shell\printto\command]
key is the same on my portable as my main machine so I doubt if the problem is there.

Note that I am a novice user of PDFCreator, and I really have little idea what is going on in the registry,  Anyway:

I saw your request to others for logging info so have provided samples of both the standard log as well as the pdfcmonLog.txt for both *.jpg and *.png files (all having interception by the windows photo print wizard)
