How to change default paper size?

Whenever I run PDFCreator, it defaults to a paper size of A4. I would like to change this to be Letter, but I can't figure out how to do it.

I tried changing the registry key HKCU\\Software\\PDFCreator\\Printing\\Papersize to "Letter" and "letter", but it didn't work.

Oddly, if I print a web page from Firefox 3.6, PDFCreator seems to default to Letter paper. But if I print from MS Word 2007 or from Adobe Reader 9.3, it always sets the paper size to A4.

What's the secret?

Thank you!

As I browse through the numerous comments regarding this issue (changing the default paper size to something other than A4), I cannot believe this issue has been going on for "years"!!.

It seems that the makers/designers of PDFCreator are either not listening or are unwilling to resolve this issue.  I do understand that "A4" is the standard size in many countries....but...

I just downloaded 1.2.2 but I am sure this issue has not been resolved.

Is this issue SO difficult to resolve???

I believe this is a bug in the installation process of pdfcreator.

Even though PDFCreator's options may be set to "letter", windows's printer options for the pdfcreator printer are set to A4 when pdfcreator installs the "printer."

To fix this (path for win xp): control panel > printers and faxes > pdfcreator > printer > printing preferences > advanced > paper size > .
