Page Size not obeyed - not even from Custom Form - W7 (64 bit)

I had been running Acrobat 8 with Word 2007 on W7 when suddenly it started printing eveything to 8.5" x 11"

I tried creating a Custom Form Size with a unique name ("A6 + 3mm bleeds")

Control Panel -> Devices & Printers -> select printer, click "Print server properties" and add new form

This didn't fix it

I have installed  PDFCreator 1.4.2, and set the paper size to my new custom form size (in the printer settings). When I print to PDFCreator it's exactly the same! It comes out 8,5" x 11"

Help! What else can it be? By the way, about the time the problem began I started to see "Postscript Custom Page Size" as a possible page size in Word. I never saw this before.

Please can someone help, I have searched all the forums to no avail

I found an answer but not an explanation!

In Word's options panel, there is an option 'Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11" page sizes'. This was cleared - as it should be. Ticking this box fixed the problem, for now at least.

By the way, the page size option "Postscript Custom Page Size" has disappeared again from the list of available page sizes. I think that looking out for this ptin may be a good clue to this problem for other people.
