PDF Architect 4 install error in windows 10

I’ve recently tried to install and have retried several ways and options! and keep getting the same error.

see attached picture…! :frowning: “sorry new users can not upload files” ■■■!!!

Anyway, something about “the installer has insufficient previledges” please logon as Administrator

I am loged as Administrator, tried to run installer as an Administrator, restarted computer, download msi package from the forum and the result is the same…

Can anyone please help out overcoming this?

Many thanks

Hi,

it doesn’t sound like a known issue, but I have raised your trust level to “member” status so you should be able to post a screenshot here now, if it still doesn’t work , please send it to support(at)pdfforge.org.
We had some major problems with spam on the old forum and therefore new users have limited rights here, sorry for the trouble.

Best regards,

Robin

Great..! Thanks Robin

Attached is a screen capture of the msg window...!

Hi,

are you running the installer from the Google Drive path or trying to install it into there?
I’d guess the permission problem is somehow related to reading from / writing to the Google Drive.

Robin

Hi,

No…! I am installing from the saved file on the desktop, as far as actual instalation directory! I am not sure where installer is defaulting!!!
I tried to alter the installation directory but there is no option for it :frowning:

I do however use Google Drive folder as the default for windows “My Documents” folder , not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Anyone here have come accross this issue before?

Cheers All
Tony

Anyone able to help out on this please? anybody know how to get around this, I even untick the read only box in google drive folder, but the error persists.

Hi,

it looks like PDF Architect wants to create a “PDF Architect” folder in “My Documents” but doesn’t have the required permissions. There are 2 or 3 possible solutions for this:
1.: Check the permissions for the Google Drive folder and ensure the setup can write there
2. Temporarily change the windows default for “My Documents” during the setup
3. Not sure if this will work, but it might be enough to simply create a “PDF Architect” fodler in your Google drive folder manually before running the setup.

Best regards,

Robin

Thanks for your suggestions, I ended up trying number 2 and it worked.

Thanks for the help Robin
