I have had this problem before. I currently have vs 1.7.3 installed. When I select a document for conversion to .pdf, I get the pop-up saying ‘switching PDFCreator temporarily as default printer’. If I click on ‘OK’ the conversion takes place and immediately afterwards the printer starts printing, and the usual ‘save as’ doesn’t appear. I’ve tried deleting the programme, and re-installing. It worked fine first time, but now it’s back up to its old tricks. I’m running Windows 7 64bit if that’s relevant. Help!!
