PDF Creator not adding files

My computer crashed recently and I lost PDF Creator. After some difficulty downloading it again (Runtime error message) I think I'd got it running again with the latest version.

Unfortunately, when I try to add JPEG files to create a PDF instead of adding they are just opening in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. JPEGs are associated with this in my Folder Options. Word documents are being added but only in what I assume is computer programming language. As you can tell, I'm no expert.

I didn't have any problems at all before my computer crash or the new download. Can anyone advise what might be happening and how I fix it?
