PDFCreator Free fresh installation as well as upgrade not possible

Hello everyone,

We've been trying for months to upgrade from version 5.3.2 to a newer version, but without success, as the setup only offers the option to purchase a Pro license or a 30-day trial version. The setup of the free version cannot be continued. We are using Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 (the same error occurs on all of them).

The upgrade was already impossible in versions 6.0.0, 6.0.1, and 6.1.0. Our hope that this error had finally been fixed in the setup of version 6.2.1 was unfortunately dashed.

Even a complete uninstallation (using the "Clean Re-Installation" checklist from the Knowledge Base) didn't help. The error therefore occurs with a fresh installation as well as with an upgrade from the existing version 5.3.2.

Does anyone know a solution?

Hi,

starting from version 6, it is no longer possible to install PDFCreator Free on machines which are inside a domain - could this be the issue, or does this not apply to your environment?

that is exactly the case. Our machines are part of a domain.
I must have missed this in the release notes of Version 5.3.3 and 6.0.

Issue solved.
