PDFCREATOR Version 1.6.2 appears to be bundled with SaveByClick Adware, that is detected as such by most common antivirus software : the installation program is raising an alert :
File 'C:\\Users\\admin\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\{56A546BC-AA2E-4554-A7BF-E20C8D46644A}\\Addons\\browser_coupon_setup.exe' contained a virus or unwanted program 'ADSPY/AdSpy.Gen' [adware]
For your information, I launched the update from tha application menu.
As I do not even imagin you are affiliated with such crooks, can you please check all your downloading sites and mirrors ?
The Antivirus software did not manage to clean everything and I had to uninstall "SaveByClick".
By default PDF Architect is marked as ready to install. Then SaveByClick is proposed like in above picture. You can simply decline and PDFCreator installation (with addons) will be successfully finished without ad-aware.
If you “un-mark” PDF Architect during installation then SaveByClick will be never installed.
I repeat after Devs: PAY ATTENTION WHAT ARE YOU DOING!
I confirm that if you uncheck everything you do not want to install. And you click decline, SaveByClick App is installed. Windows Defender raised an alert.
PDF Architect and the advertisements are two completely different things. If you uncheck PDF Architect, the PDF Architect (our PDF Editor) will not be installed.
The other thing is the advertisement screen. There you can choose whether to install (accept) or not install (decline) it. As it seems, the current advertisement raises a false alert with some AV vendors. We are taking care of that. I can assure you that SaveByClick does no harm. If this cannot be resolved with the AV companies, we will have to change or remove that.
I assure you that SaveByClick is adware at best and probably a virus or worse. After installation, my computer was flagged by I.T. as generating the most traffic to banned websites of any computer in the corporation.
It really compromises your integrity to bundle crapware with your software, whether or not it is “optional”.
