Printing to PDFCreator crashes Win7_64bit print spooler

I have been having this issue on ALL of my Win 7 Pro 32bit machines with the exception that the spooler dies only on certain websites...some pages work perfectly while others just crash the spooler.

Free PDF converter you can utilize to make PDF from any printable text. Download this free PDF printer correct at the present and use it to convert to PDF and also Printing products are avaiable that is on discount rate products are sticker printing, bumper sticker printing, vinyl sticker printing and round sticker printing in UK.

I noticed that after version 1.2 the same spooler problem on my Windows 7 Pro 32bit machine.

This morning I narrowed it down to this:
If I print a web page that is only a single page long it works fine but...
The moment the web page is longer than 1 page, say 2 or 3 pages like a bank statement or report of sorts, the spooler crashes.

I do not know if it was co-incidence, but I went onto another web site and executed the print command for a web page I knew was only a single page and the spooler "corrected" itself and suddenly some the failed prints AND the latest sinle page print was in the print window que waiting to be printed.

Hope this helps to narrow the problem down...

Hi,

first of all thanks for all the logs.

I tried reconstructing this error, but without any success. Could you kindly post an URL here from a site where printing crashes the spooler.   (together with your exact Windows and browser version)?

regards,

Robin

Hello,

for me it is also for example maps.google.at when I try to print a route with some pages for example. Browser ist der Internet Explorer: 9.0.8112.16421

Windows Version: 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) -> Win 7 64 bit Pro

Hi,

yes the Url´s i have tested are more then 255 chars long.

Hello,

for me it seems to be the same, but some portals are not designed for Firefox, therefore I use the IE. With Firefox it seems to work quite well.

I use:
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit with Service Pack 1
Internet Explorer 9 Ver 9.0.8.***

And yes... the print spooler crashes when I try and print a URL with more than 255 characters - the page that repeatedly gives the same results are 337 charaters long.  A page with 252 character still prints, but I sense a longer pause before printing as the character count gets more.

Glad there are some positive progress.

We have now fixed this and have updated the known issue list here to explain it a little:

http://www.pdfforge.org/forum/help/8727-known-problems-and-solutions-version-141

We will publish 1.4.2 in a few days to address this. Would be able to test a preview version of it to verify the problem is solved?

kind regards,
Philip

Hi

when you send me a new version i can test it on both operating systems.

Me too!

Same here...

Thanks for the offer...

I confirmed the IE9 factor in the Print Spooler crashes.

I installed Google Chrome - visited the same URL that caused the earlier crash.

No more crash - Chrome changed the URL to only the page name to some 42 characters instead of the IE 9 URL name length of 377 characters.

Patiently waiting for the new upgrade.

Thanks guys.

In my case, the version 1.4.2 fixes the spooler issues on Windows 7 64 bits.

Hello,

I also installed the 1.4.2 and yes the spooler does not crash anymore. But there is one thing that I think has changed:

When printig a page with an URL of more than the character's border, the Document title in the pdf-creator window has to be renamed/shortened, because otherwise there seems to be an infinite loop and the pdf creator window comes up once more without getting the page printed! When I rename des document title everything works fine.

For shure, this is no show stopper, but in my opinion this was different before.
