Proxy settings

Hi, i'm behind a proxy, how can I set the correct proxy settings into PDF Architect ?

Thanks

Nickko

I confirm it is an issue with proxy. I connected directly to internet my PC through my smartphone and I can register my bought codes and use them.
As soon as I revert to normal connection through proxy, the program always check the codes via internet and as it is not able to access it, it disables the functions.
I suggest to lose a bit the protection as it is crazy to check internet at every program start: if internet is not available for any reason, I can not use the advanced program modules. :frowning:

Surely an issue of this version, as previous one worked perfectly in same environment.

Just tested version 1.0.52 and it has same issue (internet connection not available) than 1.1.83
I suspect that latest Windows security updates have changed something that prevents PDF Architect to access internet when behind a proxy.

Hi,

the PDF Architect uses IEs proxy settings, so it should work if it is configured in your internet explorer.

Robin

IE works great, proxy settings are good but PDF Architect say “no connexion”.

Hi,

if you are behind a corporate proxy, please ask your admin for possible reasons.
I would need to ask the devs how exactly the communication for the PDF Architect activation works.

regards,

Robin

Admin don't communicate about that, their says, if it's could pass, it pass, if it's prohibited, it's blocked. :-(

But i know that HTTPS on other port than 443 it's not allowed.

I’m having trouble starting Architect when behind a proxy. I just installed the newest Creator and Architect (1.1.83.9982) on Win7. I then registered and activated the Creator module in Architect. Now I can only open Architect when offline, or when I’m running on the same internet connection I used when installing, a 3G mobile connection. When I switch to my office LAN (with proxy), I get a Runtime error when starting Architect: “This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way”.

I suppose the problem could be the proxy server, but they don’t block traffic as a rule. And why does Architect require an internet connection to start in the first place?

Hi,

the Architect requires internet access on statup to check if the license is still valid.
Can you manually configure your proxy? If yes, the PDF Architect uses HTTP/XML request, so be sure those aren´t blocked. Also, PDF Architect uses the Internet Explorers proxy settings, so if you don´t use IE you might still need to set the proxy settings in there for PDF Architect to work.

Robin

I use, IE but it seem other application require another proxy setting to go out of the firm network (in my case). For example, in Opera or Firefox, i must configure the proxy directly in the browser. And if i must use Putty for SSH server, i must use CNTLM to pass the proxy :-(

I think PDF Architect is not suitable to my office network, thanks Robin.

I bought two modules of the program and worked perfectly with previous version. Now I have the message that internet connection is not available.
I am behind an ISA server 2004 proxy.
Please correct this issue, I have paid for the modules and I wish I can use them.

I'm behind a ISA server 2006 or 2004 proxy too.

Perhaps an issue with this software.

Honestly I think this is a very immature product since you are blocking genuine paying customers from using your product… this is total BS… and my online review will warn millions about your stupid paranioa… I have paid good money for your junk but I cannot even use it within my commercial rights… grow up kids… blocking users is the last thing you should do to preverse your greed…

Hi,

while PDF Architect will activate without any issues unless it is blocked on user end, you can always activate offline if the machine has no or extremly limited internet connection, in which case our phone support will be happy to help you:
http://web.pdfarchitect.org/support.aspx
By the way, PDF Archtiect is a lot less “paranoid” than other products, at least many users have claimed to have purchased PDF Architect because it has a more stable activation procedure than other software.

Best regards,

Robin
