Hi,
when I reprint a pdf the result is about 7 times larger. Is there anything I can do about that?
I.e. Printing a text document to pdfcreator results in a pdf of 11K. Printing that pdf again results in one of 78K.
(the reason for reprinting is to merge multiple pdfs that are accumulated over time into one. The originals are not kept after they have been printed to pdfcreator)
Hi,
Hallo,
I was using the Adobe Reader Version 11.0.10 and have now tried to print from the Foxit reader 7.1 to pdfcreator. The resulting pdf is now 77K. So hardly any difference and still way larger than the original pdf. Can you suggest another viewer?
Best regards,
Hi,
Hi,
thanks. All I can say is that about a year ago when I was doing the same exercise (merging the accumulated small pdfs into one) the problem didn’t occur.
Unfortunately I can’t tell what has changed on my machine in the mean time: there has certainly been an update of pdfcreator (1.7.3 to 2.0.2), probably an update of adobe reader (9 to 11?) and of course multiple updates of Win7.
I hope you can do something about it.
Kind regards,
Hi,
Thanks Robin, this has worked marvelously.
The combination obtained via the create module of PDF Architect is less than half the size that I got by reprinting and merging with PDF creator.
That is really great, thanks a lot for that suggestion.
Best regards,
P.S. but it would still be nice if reprinting a PDF with PDF creator would not increase the size of the resulting PDF. In fact I have used this technique sometimes to make PDF’s that other people had created more acceptable for publication on a web site.
