The pdf creator can´t create files on my computer

it looks as if does, but then the file is not there! can you please help me?

Hi,

did this happen after you updated it?
In some cases, there is no write access to the PDFCreator temp folder (usually located in …user\app data\local\temp), please check its properties and modify the writing permission if neccesary.

regards,

Robin

Hello Robin,

I don´t have that folder in my computer… I´ve tried with the “preferences” on pdfcreator but it´s still not working… It was happening since v. 1.3.2 I think and now still no chance to save a file.
when I click on printer/pdf creator it looks as if really will save the file, it appears a note saying that is proceeding but then… nothing! very strange! Also find the properties menu where I allow myself and everyone and administrator to save files but still doesn´t work.

Vicky

I have the same problem, no file created. It’s on my two laptops. I can’t change permissions, can the temp be moved?

Hi,

the location of the PDFCreator temp folder is set by your user enviroment variable and can´t be changed otherwise. You can enable logging in PDFCreator (its in the “printer” menu on the PDF Print Monitor) and restart it once, then you should get a message where it´s temp folder is located and if there is writing access to it in the log.

Robin

I had the same problem; nothing happened when I would try to print to PDF Creator since upgrade to 1.6.2.  The problem was present even when I tried to roll back to earlier versions.  Per Robin W.'s suggestion in responding to another post, I tried to change tie permissions for the PDFCreator temp folder.  After a couple of changes, my problem was resolved and the app started to work as in the past.  The two things I did were, 1st to replace the “Owner” to my computer administrator.
but this did not fix the problem.  The problem got fixed when I went back in to same permissions page and this time make sure that “Include inheritable permissions from this object’s parent” was checked.  After doing this, things started working as normal and PDF files are now being created.  Hope this helps.
