After many attempts to find the source, it seems that PDFCreator is trying to install Roxio Venue on startup.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

PDFCreator doesn't install such software. Mostly this is a problem with some corrupted msi installations.
I did not find it anywhere in the source - I'm not a programmer, so I would not know where to look.
It is probably a problem with Roxio since you suggest a corrupt msi file.
