Why is Microsoft Word markup still appearing in pdf?

Hello all,

Apologies if this is slightly naive, I’m a bit new and have tried troubleshooting and searching for answers. I have saved down a Microsoft Word doc in order to remove all markup and comments, in order to show it in “final” form. When I drag the saved doc to PDF24 creator, the pdf contains the markup and comments. How do I prevent the markup/comments from showing up in the pdf?

Found the answer:

It is not enough to select “Final” view and uncheck the various markup types (comments, insertions, deletions). You must also go to Tools->Options->Security and uncheck “Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving”.

Then make a benign change to the file and save it down. PDF24 Creator will no longer show the markup.
