Why won't it work for me?

Firstly, I am running Windows 7 64 bit and I had PDF Creator version 1.7.3 and all was working fine. I do not use PDF Creator directly but for my work I have been creating PDF/A files from Excel files. Every time I open a file in Excel I would click print, choose the PDF Creator as the printer and that would open another window allowing me choose PDF/A instead of just a PDF as the output type and I could choose where I want it to go.


Then I opened Excel and it told me there was a new version of PDF creator and I very regrettably clicked YES when it asked if I want to download it. Now I open one of my Excel files, click print, choose PDF Creator as the printer and hit okay. However, instead of bringing up any other windows it simply puts up a tiny window that says, “Printing”. The window is there for about half a second and then it disappears without even giving me a clue as to where the hell it printed the file to or what it called it. I have searched my computer and can find nothing. I have searched PDF Creators help files to find that they are no help whatsoever. What the hell is going on?

This is now costing me money as I can no longer do my work!!! Can anyone help or should I just start looking for legal help as PDFForge has basically just put me out of business.

if you prefer the 1.7.3 version you can reinstall it on 
"If you should encounter problems with PDFCreator 2.0, you can still download PDFCreator 1.7.3"

remember that pdfforge is free so you don’t need to be agressive :wink:

That doesn’t help. I already uninstalled version 2.0 and went back to 1.7.3 but I still have the same problem. I’m using version 1.7.3 and when I print an Excel file using PDF Creator as my printer I still don’t get the window coming up giving me any options of where to save my PDF or what type of PDF I want it saved as.


I’m not trying to be aggressive but I am behind with my work and it is due to be completed next week and now I am unable to continue working on it. It was working perfectly for me when I started today but after printing only two files I noticed the other popup window notifying me of the update. One mistaken click later and I can no longer work. I am very likely to be out of a job because of this.

If I cannot get it to work the way it was when I started this morning then I will be fired.
