Window Server 2008 R2 setup help

I’m trying to set up PDFCreator to run as a service on Windows 2008 R2 Server.  I’ve set it up as a service that runs when the computer turns on, but it only runs in the background and won’t let users print to files with the shared printer.  If I go in and open the program myself it will only create 3KB files that are empty.  I have to go in and kill the service (or background process) and then open PDFCreator in order to print to file.  Since we can’t always log on to the server and run PDFCreator every time the server resets we need to run it as a service.  Any idea how to get this working?

Hi,

did you find this already: "You can install PDFCreator as a service by using the “instsrv.exe” and “srvany.exe” tools from the resource kit of your Windows installation. If you do install PDFCreator as a service, make sure to use a user account with access rights writing in a Auto-Save directory."

maybe you have already found it or it doesn´t help, but just in case.

regards,

Robin
