PDFCreator 2.4 Error recently on Multiple Windows 10 computers - TaskCanceledException

We use PDFCreator 2.4 (Don't like that 3+ doesn't prompt for save location) and since the beginning of this week we had multiple "TaskCanceledException". Is there a solution for this?

Hi,

prompting for the save location is optional in either version. We have hopefully fixed this issue for the upcoming release, could we send you a preview version so you can confirm it fixes the issue? We haven't been able to reproduce it ourselves.

We haven't discovered what steps can reliably reproduce the error but the errors are occurring frequently. I'll try upgrading to PDFCreator 3+ but how can we force PDFCreator to pop up the Save dialog?

Hi,

there is an interactive save mode, which will display a print/save dialog. If you have a plus or business version, you can skip the print job window during the interactive workflow and let it directly display a Windows save dialog instead.

Upgrading to 3.x won't help yet, the bug will get fixed with the upcoming 3.2.2 update.
We will upload it as nightly build and set it to stable as soon as the bug fix has been confirmed.
It will be available in pdfforge Download shortly (if you have a license, it will also be avaialble for all licensed editions e.g.
http://download.pdfforge.org/download/pdfcreator-plus/list for PDFCreator Plus.)

In version 3, we have to press the folder button as outlined in purple in the attached image in order to choose the location where we want to save.

Instead, can it be set to always show the Save dialog box after pressing the save button like it did in previous versions?

Hi,

if you have a Plus or Business version, you can go directly to the Windows save dialog and skip the dialog from the first screenshot completely by checking "skip print dialog" in the "Save" section of the profile settings.
The free version will always show the print dialog in interactive mode, but can also be switched to automatic, in which case file names and output locations can be configured dynamically with the help of tokens.
