After Upgrade to ver 1.4.1 I get Error 339

Hello

After upgrading to PDFCreator 1.4.1  on my Windows 7 machine I get a 339 error when printing to PDF Creator.  I have tried printing .docs .pdfs and .tiff files and get this error every time.  I had no errors with the previous version. Should I go back to ver 1.4.0?

Any help would be appreciated. Love the software and have used it for ~4 years.

No reply, just would bring a similar problem here.

When installing the new version (1.4.1) the old version cannot be removed. It acts as if the old version was write protected.

The old version cannot be fully removed manually either. And the remaining files cannot be deleted.

It does not work either if I install the new version to another subdirectory.

Any solutions?

Thanks

 I found another thread here: www.pdfforge.org/forum/help/9065-error-nr-339-component-mscomct2ocx-or-one-its-dependencies#comment-7453. The easy solution is to just run PDFCreator as Administrator once, and it solves the problem. There's another solution in that thread involving re-registering the file but just running it as admin is easy enough.

Hi,

@Tibiapa:

It probably failed to remove pdfcmon.dll because it was still in use for some reason. To prevent this, you can type "net stop spooler" (withouth the "") into your command prompt before the setup, and start it again afterwards with "net start spooler".
