Hello,
We changed PDF Creator on our servers and we have an issue with the last release.
Users receive PDF files of a business application containing barcodes. These PDF files contain lots of pages and users in that a portion regenerate the few pages they are interested in using PDF creator.
When printing a page containing a barcode, it is generated, but the font used for the bar code is not included in the PDF. When opening the file, a message explaining that the police is not available is displayed:
"Can not find or create the font a39n-Identity-H. It may be that some characters display incorrectly or poorly printed."
On older servers, we had PDF creator 0.9.1, and it worked.
If anyone has a solution or if developers are willing to PDF creator released a patch that would be great.
Thank you in advance.
Antoine
Hi,
please take a look at options->formats->PDF->fonts and make sure, "Embed all Fonts" is checked.

Have you tried converting to jpeg instead of PDF?

Hi,
Back from holidays, I advanced on the subject. The problem is the version of Ghostscript. Up to version 8.62, the codebar print well and since version 8.63 this is the problem.
Regards,
Antoine
Hi,
you can manually install a different version of Ghostscript and set the PDFCreator to use it in the Ghostscript section of the PDFCreator options.

Robin
Hi Robin
I am also struggling to print a barcode using PDF but if I print it as a JPEG is does print out the barcode. How do I get it to print out the barcode on a PDF document ?
Thanks
denis
Hi,
what happens if you then convert the jpeg back to pdf?
If it works, you could automate it in a way where the barcode first gets converted to jpeg, then printed to a second PDFCreator printer which converts it to PDF.

Robin
