Closing files from command line (windows)

Is there a way of sending PDF Architect a command to close a file from a command prompt.

This will be useful for people using PDFLaTeX to create documents.

PS I’m using PDF Architect 2 on Windows 8.

Hi,

I am afraid not, but I am interested in your workflow, do you need this command for silent printing or how does the interaction between PDFLaTeX and PDF Architect look like?

best regards,

Hi Robin,

Thank you for replying.
I typically write a tex file using a specialized editor (WinEdt 9.0), and then compile by pressing a button in the editor. The button calls PDFTexify.exe that overwrites the existing PDF file (or generates one when it’s run for the first time).
When I used Acrobat, the program (I’m not sure if it’s WinEdt that did this or PDFTexify) also closed the PDF file in the reader and then opened the updated file. With Architect I need to manually close the file before hitting the compile button, otherwise I get an error message.
