Double File Extension

I have a problem with autofilename, where I write filename.pdf to the registry and it appears as filename.pdf.pdf on the disk.  On one system it works as just filename.pdf and the other has the double file extension.  I can not figure out the difference.

The following link also saw the issue, but I can not open it:

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,

Joel

I'm having the same problem - only when working on Win2003 server.  I ended up coding a patch to lookup the file with a single or double extension.

Wondering if anyone knows the cause or solution of this? Thanks

Curious, I’m having the same troubles after installing 1.7.0 using COM and/or the registry for automating save.

Please some idea?

Hi,

there are mainly two settings which effect this:

One is the list of filename substitutions (options->save),
the other is a registry setting called RemoveAllKnownFileExtensions (boolean).
Please check if those are set correctly.

Robin

We had the same issue today on a Win 7 computer where no PDF reader was installed. After installing Adobe Reader 9.5 the problem was solved.
