Edited title not saved in 2.1.0

Hi, when I print using version 2.1.0 and manually edit the Title, the edit/change is not saved.

The default save filename is again the PrintJobName (where I can make the edit/change second time).
And in the saved pdf file, under Properties, the Title is yet again the default PrintJobName (which I cannot change).

Thanks in advance for looking into it, and also thanks for pdfcreator which I’ve been using all this time.

I have the same issue. Same behaviour.

Just to confirm that it is not something just related to your PC/Installation.
Regards

I have the same problem. Same behaviour. My operating system is windows 8.1 64bit.

Ah yes, forgot to add I’m on Windows 7 x64.

Also thanks alessio & Claudio2015 for posting ur feedback too

Me too. This only started when I downloaded the latest version - 2.1. No problem before then. I am using Windows 7 Professional x32. I messed around with the title settings but could not find a solution there.

I am having the same issue. I thought it was just me. I guess I have to go back to the previous version.

I am having the same issue since upgrading to 2.1. I’m on Windows 7 Professional x64

I checked all the settings and everything looks the same as before EXCEPT with I type in a filename in the dialog box and click save the save as window opens and my file name is not there. It wants to save it as the browser’s title.

This is a new bug after last update to 2.0.2, going back to 2.0.0.

Needs a fix.

Win7 Home Prem 32-bit

Officially downgraded to 2.0.0 and it works as expected.

File names are what I type. Not the webpage title.

Get back to me when you fix this bug.

I’m having something similar I think. I save electronic receipts as PDF files using PDFCreator. Since upgrading to 2.1.0 the name drops the very last part (it never did this with any prior version). If I try to save a file as

2015-03-30_(2) College Books (Anya)$120.91.pdf

the name comes out like this:

2015-03-30
(2) College Books (Anya)_$120.pdf

I end up having to go back to every electronic receipt and edit the file to the name desired. This is a new development with 2.1.0.

I just want to add my voice to the chorus.

This is a bit of an irritation.  Please let me know when this is corrected.

Same problem here and while it may be a pretty small bug, it definitely is a very big annoyance.

@j5doto: No need to go all the way back to 2.0.0. This bug was introduced AFTER 2.0.2.
@1BadBoy: I tried, but cannot replicate this behavior. Perhaps some setting does this???

Hi, problem seems fixed in new version 2.1.1 - Thanks!

Still a problem for me. I dropped back to 1.7.3 (newest version of the 1.x versions that I still had available).

I’m still left with 2 problems:

1) Application drops the last portion of my file’s name when created (see above comment for example).

2) I’m prompted EVERY TIME saying that I don’t have any application associated with new [PDF] file. Maybe because I’ve installed the minimal installation option (without PDF Architect)?

Major headaches for me with new version.

Hi,

the problem with the title not being saved is fixed in version 2.1.1

@1BadBoy, are you having those problems in version 1.7.3 or 2.1.1?
Do you have a default viewer for PDF installed?

best regards,

Hi @Robin.W. I’m having the problem in 2.1.1 (any 2.x version I see the
name issue). I’ve dropped back to version 1.7.3 and I no longer have the
problem.

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and it’s my
default viewer for PDF files, but the 2.x versions of PDFCreator do not
open the created PDF file as expected. Version 1.7.3 opens the PDF as
expected.
