Font encodings on win 7 or what?

Hello,

I uses PDFCreator for some time on windows XP without problems.

Now I upgrade to Win 7/64 and here is a problem which I dont know to solve.

I made HTML documents through VB6 and then convert those documents to PDF with PDFCreator's activeX. All works fine except letters c, S and Z are shown like square no matter on used font face in document.

Same happens on friends Win7 32 bit.

Any help will be welcome.

Thanks, nime.

I have not an answer but nearly the same problem:

(Windows Vista x32, I'm not quite sure, but I think the problem occurs after an update, maybe IE9 ?).

Sometimes the characters u,U or o,O are shown as squares.

Thx for any help!

Regards

Jens

Hello Jumbobt,

Thank you for pointing me to IE9, so I make tests allaround and problem appears only on machines where IE9 was present.

Today, I install at my Win7+IE9 computer MS Office 2003+Frontpage 2003  and then I lost some file associations but letters comes OK now!

I have slavic code page where we have letters like ČŽŠ and I suppose you have some german code page and you got letters like ÖÜ and so.

Is this correct?

One friend tell me that this could be because of UTF fonts which Microsoft software handles incorrect.

I have similar experience.

You can set a "TrueType Font download option" to "Outline".

It helps me.

Thanx for Your answer, but I couldn't find such option. Where must I'm looking for ?

Thanks
Jens

Hello, I have the same problem. (winXP ok, win7/64bit+IE9 problem)

- You can set a "TrueType Font download option" to "Outline" (in printer settings - poscript options) - this does't work :-(

Any other ideas?

I tried the setting and it seems to work fine in my case .

Thanks for help !
