How do I select, then delete a text box?

I’m having a hard enough time just selecting a text box. If I could select it, then I could delete it. As it is, I have to delete the whole text, one character at a time. Then the text box will disappear.
Also, I would like to be able to select a section of a PDF, then delete it, the same way you can edit an image with any number of image editors (e.g., MS Paint).

Any news about this? this is the exact same problem as in the other thread, an image inside the pdf that you cant edit because there is no support for it, this should be prio 1 function to add!
