How to create PDF from MS Word .doc and "save" but NOT print

Hi, Am first time user. downloaded pdf creator successfully. I assume I might not have some basic settings right on my computer. (MS Word 2002 used)

How do I convert my MS Word .doc to PDF WITHOUT printing .. just saving it to file. Then, later sendng same file as an email attachment to someone.

Have tried  'print' and changing the default printer temp to PDF Creator, but it just prints right away.

Have read these points in 'CREATE PDF' help, but the the 'another window etc. below in bold, thing never happens.

Any ideas what I need to change?

Thanks,

Berns

3. In the file type box, select All Files and then select the document you wish to convert to PDF. If PDFCreator is not your default printer, it will ask to become it temporarily in order to complete the request. It will return the default printer status to the original printer once the process has been completed.

4. Another window will appear asking you to fill in some information to create your PDF. Click on the Save button to pick the location where you want to save the PDF or click the Waiting button to create the PDF at a later time.
