Increase in PDF size

Hi All,

Its been noted that pdf size is beeing increased 3 time more than that of orig file in PDF converter tool

Have you played with the compression settings? There are lot of possibilties. Reduce the resolution of pictures and increase the compression level.

After testing its been analysed that we can compress pdf size from 5 mb to 2 mb but not in case of pdf which hold size in KB.

Input Source : PDF

Output Source : Compressed PDF

For Example : Orig Size(KB) After compression Size(KB)  Compression

                          364                     1860                                                NO

                          348                      885                                                 No

                          3153                    824                                                 Yes

Inspite of decreasing the resolution and increasing the compression level pdf size still continue to increase. 

Settings As Below:

Resolution : 50 under general tab

Color images Compression : jpeg-low     Factor 0.25  Average downsample : 90

Resample : true

which value did you use for resample? have you tried without using resample?

Hi Robin,

              Resample value set to 150.

Also tried without resampling but the pdf size increases as compared with the above set resample value.

Has a solution to this been found? I'm currently experiencing the same problem.

I'm having a word document being increased from 1,481 kb to pdf 4,013 kb on default settings alone, then when ever I try to change compression settings it increases further. I tried naidurajan90 settings above and it went over 5mb. However I need this file to remain roughly the same size, or ideally below 1mb.

Hi,
 

It includes confidential information so unfortunatley I can't.

However if it helps, the third page of the word doc is an image of a one page pdf as I don't no how or if its possible to combine pdf files.

please try using a high compression ratio like 5 and see if that helps. 0,25 will increase the filesize x4.
