"Insert a Smart Card" at startup of PDFArchitect

Hi,

When launching PDF Architect for the first time after downloading, the system detects the presence of a smart card reader and asks to insert a smart card.

However, this smart card reader is used for "Isabel" exclusively - a Belgian Banking application. There's no smart card usage intended.

Other applications, including windows logon, do not exhibit this behaviour.

I cannot start up PDFArchitect.

Any tips?

Unfortunately I cannot spend too much time on this as we are investigating this as a solution for a single license for a customer, so I guess both for us and for you this needs to remain economically viable, too.

I do appreciate the product quite a lot and I’ve tested the following: disabling the windows service “Smart Card” (the PnP app for using smart cards) solves the issue immediately.

Unfortunately, this is not an option for this specific case as the banking application immediately stops working as well.

Kindly pass on this information to Dev, it can only make the final product better!

I am getting this same problem at the Startup of the program. I had it installed on my computer, the free version, but today I purchased the complete version ans started to Pop Up a screen requesting the Smart card when I open the software. How can this be disabled?
