Hello everybody!
This is a strange question, I guess: when opening a .pdf file (with PDF Xchange viewer) that I created with PDF-Creator, I cannot see all the layers I printed in my file!
Or, to be more specific, when opening my document, I see the first layer for 1/4 of a second, then the second layer for 1/4 of a second, then the third layer appears, but ONLY it: the two previous layers disappeared, as if they where covered by the last one.
–> this means that the three layer are actually existing in my .pdf, but that they cannot be seen in transparency or superposition.
Let me explain you what I did: I created a map with a software called Map Maker. This map includes 3 layers: a photo, the “cadastre” and the polygons I drew. Then I printed this map with PDF-Creator. I must specify that, at this point, while still in Map Maker, I could see the three layers with the “preview” option.
Thank you for your help, if you can!
Best regards.
Antoine.
PS:
I am using version 1.7.2 with Windows Vista SP2.
I am going to post my setup.log in the next post.

Hi,
Sure, Robin. Transparency is taken care of by my primary software, Map Maker. When I am ready to “print” on PDF Maker, what I can see on the preview within Map Maker is perfectly all-right, ie the three layers make one single image with all the information of each layer visible “in transparency”.
However, when I look at the resulting file printed by PDF Maker, be it with PDF Viewer or Adobe, I see only one part of the image I created; more specifically, I can see the last layer.
What is really surprising is that the two other layers ARE ALSO INCLUDED in the .pdf file created by PDF Creator. And I know that because, as I said:
a) when opening my .pdf document with Adobe or PDF Viewer, I can see the first layer for 1/4 of a second,
then the second layer for 1/4 of a second, then the third layer appears and covers the two previous;
b) when I zoom in or out, or when I move the image, I can see those two layers exactly the same way as I just described, then the third layer covers the rest.
So my question is: what can I do in order Map Maker and PDF creator to work together well?
Is it a matter of settings in one or the other software?
Let me add that when I print my Map Maker document on my Canon printer, the result is what I expected, ie I previewed in Map Maker. So my printer understands (or is set correctly) what PDF Maker does not (or maybe it is not set correctly?).
I hope you understand what I am trying to explain. But I must admit that I do not know much about printers and postscipts…
