We encountered an issue where we needed to convert a DOCX file to PDF/A. The resulting PDF contained strange characters. After a lengthy investigation, we finally identified the cause. When kerning and ligatures are enabled in Word, there's a chance that the text will contain these strange characters.
We tested this on versions 3.5.1, 5.3.1, and 5.3.2. However, I'm not sure what exactly is causing the error—whether it's the PDFCreator printer or Word itself improperly sending the data to the printer.
We would appreciate any information on how to fix this issue. Manually adjusting each DOCX file doesn't seem like the right solution.
