I'm having trouble with missing print jobs.
Primarily my current usage is using GoToMyPC to access a computer at work. On my work computer I print a document from QuickBooks Enterprise 2010 to the GoToMyPC driver and my GoToMyPC driver is set to print to PDF Creator.
After first launcing GoToMyPC this works fine. But after a while I suddenly begin loosing print jobs. It goes through the normal printing process in GoToMyPC. On my host PC I see the printer icon in the status bar, but the job never prints. It's not in the printer queue or anywhere. It acts as if it printed but never does.
If I close GoToMyPC and reopen it, printing will work ok for a bit then stops working again.
Or if I then change the GoToMyPC printer to my actual physical printer it works fine.
Today it did something a little different. It displayed an error message saying it couldn't find the print server. Then it brought up the PDF Creator Print Monitor which showed the document along with a previous document that had disappeared as described above. After clicking Ok to clear the error, both jobs disappeared into the void.
I thought this might be a GoToMyPC (wow! that's annoying to keep typing)...
I thought this might be a GoToMyPC problem but I recently experienced it on one of my other computers. A unrelated and unattached computer.
What can I do to help figure out what's going on? I'm an experienced developer in C, C++, perl, ruby, pascal, some VBA. But haven't every worked with drivers. What can I do to figure out what is going on?
Thanks,
Randy.
