I am trying to find a different way to minimize the PDFCreator Monitor... As it is now, the program is always minimized to systray. That is a problem when using the PDFCreator on a Terminal Server.
We autostart an application inside the RDP-session which means the taskbar and systray is not even visible to the user. Now, when the user prints something from the application to the PDFCreator, the printing dialog appears. In the dialog window they choose to collect more jobs. Doing so brings the Monitor up. Now, when you (for some reason) happen to minimize the Monitor window, you cannot get it back visible!
new print job do not bring the window back. Alt + Tab do not work.
Nothing I can think of will bring the program back to front.
If there was a way to minimize the program to taskbar, then it would still be accessible (even when the taskbar itself is not visible - all windows are then minimized directly to the "desktop").
Anybody have some ideas how to solve this in the current version, and can this possibly be added to the next version as a option?
Workaround:
If you have the remote desktop in full screen, press Shift-Ctrl-Esc to bring up the task manager. In not fullscreen, you can press Ctrl-Alt-End to bring up the remote Windows security dialog, from where you can fire up the task manager.
Then you can click on ‘Switch to’ in the context menu of PDFCreator in the task list.
Actually that does not work as the PDFCreator is not minimized as other programs - it is minimized to the system tray. I tested this with the 0.9.8 version. I can think of two alternatives for this: An option to disable the minimize button completely or an option to minimize the program to taskbar instead. hmm... maybe I should look at the source code... I might have the necessary tools to recompile my own version without the minimize button... But I would prefer if you guys might consider adding this function to the next version so i do not need to mess with my own version... Thanks!
