Missing Margins

We have a FoxPro based software that prints multiple reports as a batch.  If these reports are sent to any of our printers, the report details are shown with appropriate margins around the entire document.  If we set our default printer to PDFCreator and execute the batch, PDFCreator successfully intercepts the batch and allows us to combine and convert the document into PDF format.  However, the final PDF seems to be missing its upper and left margins, leaving the reports misaligned.

I have searched PDFCreator options and have not found any setting that has helped this issue.  There was an answer on the forum which indicated a two step process to correct what seemed like a similar issue.  I have not had success with this work around, but I am not 100% clear on what step 1 was indicating so it is possible I missed something there.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated!

Hi,

can you link the thread with the suggestions?
Are the margins also missing, if you convert without combining?

regards,

Robin

Robin, the margins are missing when I convert without combining.  The report looks identical with and without combining.

I am not sure how to link the thread with suggestions.  Suggestion?

Thanks,

Hi,

are you using the PDFCreator default saettings, or did you make any modifications to those?

You can post the link to the other thread here as plain text.

regards,

Robin

I have tried the default settings and have also tried modifying the settings.  So far, I haven’t found any settings that make a difference.  Not sure if it helps, but when PDFCreator intercepts the reports, they are in .frx format.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but I’m still not clear on “post the link to the other thread here as plain text”.  Is there another thread for this issue you want me to paste into this discussion or is there an option I am not seeing to reclassify this thread?

Thanks,
Adam

Hi,

I meant a link to "There was

Just to know what you may have already tried.

Robin

Below is the method I tried from the forum.  Sorry for the confusion.

"I remember fixing this issue once... then after updating to 1.2.3 it took me a couple hours to finally find what was the issue and fix it again.

Setting page size is a 2-step process.

1. The printer setting is defaulted to A4. You must select Printer Settings, then Advanced Settings and select the printer's page size.

2. The print monitor page size can also be set. Once the document has finished "printing", the print monitor shows up. Select Printer -> Options, go to Documents, and select 2nd tab "Document properties 2". There you could fix the pagesize.

Fixing both sizes to "letter" fixed all my problems for all apps. And don't forget those steps: when updating, these settings seem to reset!

I hope this helped!"

Thanks Robin.

Hi, which format are the original reports in?

Please check the actual PDFCreator printer settings (in windows control panel->devices and printers) and set its default output format to the same as the reports are in.

Robin
