Multi signature allowed - pdf Not signable in acrobat reader

Hello I print a single page test word document (word2003) to pdf and sign it during creation by pdfcreator. Although I have checked the option “Multi Signature allowed” the produced pdf is not further signable in acrobat reader. The properties state “Signing: Not Allowed”

I am using pdfcreator 1.3.2 on WInXP SP3 and Adobe Acrobat9.5

How can i enable signatures through acrobat reader?

Any help is deeply appreciated

Hi,

Adobe Reader can only handle signatures, if there is a built in signature space in the PDF.

If you for example create a testpage with PDFCreator, Adobe Reader will also show "Signing: Not Allowed".

Yes.  Well, 1.4.2, anyway, which was the latest as of 7/12, when I downloaded it.

And 1.4.3.

Is there any effort under way to correct this?  Because, if I generate a document signed by my company, that needs to be signed by another company, they will not want to have to install ANOTHER application, just to to be able to sign my document, when Adobe does sign PDFs...

If you aren't going to fix this, what is the approach I will have to take?  Generate the PDF, sign it with Adobe at my end, then send the document to the other company?

Hi,

we are going to look at this, have you tried using the latest version?

Hello,

Was this resolved? I just tried with 1.6.2 and I am having the described problem.

Robin: you said earlier

Adobe Reader can only handle signatures, if there is a built in signature space in the PDF.

When will PDF creator create a PDF with a 'built in signature space in the PDF?

Please delete duplicate posts.  I kept getting an error from the forum software that it couldn’t create xml from the string provided.  (But, apparently, it posted, in spite of the error)

Hi,

the option to add certificates with adobe reader needs to be
unlocked for every PDF, but it can only be unlocked from Acrobat. It is
not part of the pdf specifications.
