I have just downloaded & installed the standard module and have received the activation code.
But I am lost. I cannot find where to insert the activation code. Clicking on the main menu ACTIVATE icon brings up an enter license code icon but does not offer any text entry window for the code.
Similarly, if EDIT is selected from the main menu, a green round icon with a tick appears and underneath the word ‘activate’ and below that ‘Edit module not active’. But, again, there is no text window to enter the activation code.
What do you do to activate the beast?
It’s looking very bad. Pdfforge help sent me an image of what should happen. Unfortunately in neither case did it work. Both ACTIVATE and the HELP strip produce an icon “Enter License Key”.
Clicking on either of these icons should produce the ‘enter activation code’ window. In neither case did that window appear.
Also of the 10 items in the Help strip, seven were also useless, including the User Guide.
Wow, it looks to me that the latest release of Architect needed a couple of months more of testing & debugging.
But in the meantime I am without a functioning system when I absolutely needed it to defend myself in a court case & also paid my 50 bucks.
What are you going to do?
PDFforge help were on the ball. They sent me another version of Architect 4. Many thanks, folks.
But the problem still exists in the new version. I cannot access the ‘enter activation code’ window.
I wonder if it’s a Win XP problem.
I have too many years of software, much written by myself, which cannot be replaced or re-compiled in an upgraded Win.
Pdfforge help team are doing what they can, thanks folks! But the problem is as far away from solution as ever. So I’m going to add 2+2 and hope to get the right answer.
Problem: the ‘enter activation code’ window does not appear when triggered by clicking on one of the two icons, set for this purpose.
Fact 1: there seems to have been severe damage to the Pdfforge database.
Fact 2: Robin.W of the Pdfforge team found it necessary to give the URL for the User Manual for Architect 4.
It seems reasonable to suppose that the entry of activation codes is executed by code held by Pdfforge on their database for security reasons. i.e. the ‘enter activation code’ window is not executed by Architect 4 code held on my machine.
The need to post the URL for the User Manual indicates two things. The icon to call up the User Manual in Architect 4 is not working for some users at least. And, as a consequence, the problem dies not lie in my particular machine or software configuration with Windows XP.
My conclusion: the trigger icon for activation code entry has the wrong address. Possibly this was caused by the upheaval to the Pdfforge database.
I only hope someone reads this who has sufficient knowledge to solve the problem since I am in a rather ghastly state of limbo.

Support.upclick.com have really done their best to help me. But I think the issue is getting beyond their competence.
The two ‘Enter License Key’ icons, one accessible from the ACTIVATE menu item, the other in the Help menu ribbon, neither of these bring up the ‘enter license key’ window as they should.
That is: I cannot activate the Edit module for access to the seriously needed Attachments function.
Is the problem confined to my machine? No, I don’t think so. Rpbin.W found it necessary to give the URL for the Architect 4 user manual in a post above. This coupled with fact that the cirresponding icon on the help ribbon does not work suggests there is something awry on the system, not just on my machine, Ciykd it be a Win XP sp3 problem with the lack of the latest Java platform which is now incompatible with Win XP.
Help, help please

I received my activation key from upclick.com on the 10th November. Since then “Support Team” support@support.upclick.com have been struggling to help me without success.
The issue is that the window to be used to enter the activation code does not appear. Two icons are available to access this window. One appears when the main menu ACTIVATE is clicked. The other appears in the help icon ribbon when the main menu HELP is clicked. Neither of these icons make the activation code window appear.
Support arranged the download of the full list of modules as below:
Architect_Remover_1.0.7.25584.exe
pdf-architect4-startup-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-create-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-convert-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-edit-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-insert-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-review-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-forms-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-secure-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-ocr-module-4.0.9.25450.msi
pdf-architect4-asian-and-extended-font-pack-4.0.9.25450.msi
No permutation of the installation of these modules solved the problem. The ‘forms’ module has a repair function which seemed to be what was needed. Unfortunately this also failed to solve the problem.
Either there is a critical software error in release 25450 or this release does not support Windows XP correctly.
Please do one of the following:
- provide me with a later release which solves the problem.
- provide me with a copy of Architect 3 if and only if Architect 3 supports ‘Attachments’.
- arrange for me to be refunded the purchase price
Just a final point, imagine my reaction on receiving a Pdfforge ‘Black Monday’ email flyer for Architect 4 which starts “Trust Us” in a very big font.

Hi,
