I used to pdf cr for many years in old version, and always when I printed to pdf, (and automatically open in adobe reader), after then this doc was visible in list recently documents in Outlook, so I could quicly send pdf by email.
Few weeks ago, since I upgraded "pdf creator", documents opened automatically by PDF Creator - are not visible in the list.
To be visible on the list - I have to manually open the document.
I tried with pdf architect - the same.
Can you help me ?
Hi,
if you only need it in the recent list to find it faster in Outlook, you could instead let PDFCreator automatically open the created PDF document in Outlook. You can either activate this permanently by enabling the "Email Client Action" in the send tab of the PDFCreator profile settings or use the "Email" button during any print job, or from the job history inside PDFCreator if you use automatic saving.
You could even go as far as creating 2 different printers / profiles and have one of them open any document converted by it in Outlook and use the other if you don't want to mail the document.
Regarding the original question: The recent list is completely controlled by Windows and we never actively interacted with it. It probably depends how exactly the file is opened, when I use the interactive workflow in PDFCreator and the file is automatically opened, it does show up in the recent list for me.
But I know that there are more factors to this as another user is facing the same issue and we are getting inconsistent results.
Best regards
Robin
I know "Email Client Action", but this problem doesn't only affect email, but any other program that uses recent doc lists.
Anyway, often when writing I want to attach the last generated document, so the way of sending documents directly to the outlook doesn't suit me.
This problem appears exactly that day when I updated the pdf creator. In the version from 2017, there was no problem.
Can I download an older version somewhere to get back to it?
Hi,
some older versions are located here:
http://download.pdfforge.org/download/pdfcreator/list but nothing from 2017.
We will have another look if there is anything we can do on our end to restore this behavior to how it was, but it probably won't happen very soon. I assume you only updated PDFCreator on the same system and not e.g. installed it on a different machine with a different Windows version?
Best regards
Robin
