We are happy to release PDFCreator 1.4.0 today. After a big bit of work, we have solved a lot of problems in the 1.3.x branch. There were some performance and ordering problems when converting a large amount of files. We have also fixed a lot of smaller, but nasty problems that were dicussed in the community. As always, you can find a detailed list in the What's new section on the site.
We hope that this release makes your life with the computer a bit easier!
Not sure is this is the correct place to post this. Sorry if that's the case.
We use pdfCreator in a Windows 2008 R2 x64 Terminal Server environment. We were on 1.3.x having the issue below, but recently upgraded to 1.4.x to see if it would resolve our issue, but it did not.
The issue: Sometimes, but not always and I'm not sure what the trigger is that causes this, but when a user prints to pdfCreator and clicks the Save button, the Save To dialog box doesn't show up and the pdfCreator window goes away. The user repeats the print job repeatable and then eventually the Save To dialog box does indeed open up and lets the user save the pdf as needed. And also, the Print Monitor opens and all of the failed (?) print requests before have been queued with a waiting status. My users are, unfortunately but understandably, becoming quite disgruntled with this behavior.
Why is this happening? Any ideas? What further information is needed to help diagnose this issue?
unfortunatly there is a problem with the temp path on some machines, which we could not identify properly up till now. We have added advanced logging abilities to the pdfcmon.dll in version 1.4.0 and now we need your help : please enable logging by adding the following DWORD value to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Print\\Monitors\\pdfcmon in your registry: name : Logging, value :1. This will cause PDFCreator to create an advanced logfile at %Windir%\\Temp\\_pdfcmonLog.txt, please send it to us (support@pdfforge.org).
I recently upgraded to PDFCreator 1.4. My system is Windows 7 64bit. While it seemed to install fine, and prints a test page fine, no other programs are able to print to it. Cen anyone offer a suggestion?
