I have used PDFCeator for some time and have found it best suits my needs compared to alternatives. In the course of applying an update recently I removed the previous version but the latest version will not install. It gets almost to the end of the installation and then I get a message saying “C/Program Files/PDFCreator Error 5:Access is denied.”
I’m finding doing stuff is a pain without PDFCreator, what do I need to do?
Thanks
Geoff
Hi,
please post the content of your setuplog.txt here or send it to us by mail.
Most likely it is the pdfcmon.dll which didn´t get deleted properly during uninstall.
To delete it manually you will need to run CMD as admin and type net stop spooler to stop your spooler, then deleted the pdfcmon.dll and run the setup again.

Robin
Thanks Robin
My IT skills are stretched to understand what your solution requires me to do but I may be able to get some-one here help navigate through your suggestion. I wouldn’t know where to start looking for my setuplog.txt etc. Alternatively if some sort of idiot’s step by step guide can be provided, I’ll give it a go myself.
I’m most grateful.
Geoff
Hey,
the setuplog.txt gets placed in the PDFCreator folder, usually this is C:\program files (x86)\PDFCreator
Do you have Win7 or XP (for a step by step guide i need to know)?
