PDFCreator installed on Windows printserver

Hello,

I have PDFCreator version 2.1.1 installed on my printserver (Windows Server 2012 R2).
I setup PDFCreator to auto save the printed document to an UNC path on another server.
I followed this tutorial to install PDFCreator on my printserver.
link

When I print something from my printserver to the printer that I created from PDFCreator then the file is being saved on the autosave location.

But I shared the printer on my printserver and when I install the printer on a computer and print from that computer to the PDFCreator printer from my printserver nothing happens.
I get the message on my computer that the document was sended to the printer but when I look on the printserver nothing ends up in the printqueue and there is no document being saved on the unc path where the auto save directs to.
My computer has Windows 7 installed on it.

What am I doing wrong and why can’t I print from a client computer to the PDFCreator printer that was installed on my printserver?

Same issue here.
User rights are OK, even tried administrator.
Printing locally works, shared printer not.
Log doesn’t show anything (trace).
Used UNC path and local harddrive.
Nothing works when printing to the shared printer.

Hi,

the tutorial will only work for version up to 1.7.3.
As you might have noticed when following the tutorial, there is no longer the option to install in server mode.
Server mode was removed afterwards and we are currently working on a seperate service for working on servers, which should become available in July.

best regards

Ah I noticed the server mode option was gone but everything from the tutorial worked.

But Robin thanks for your answer! I’m gonna make a workaround temporarily and wait till July for the new service become available which will work on servers.
