PdfCreator keeps printing the same documnt

Hi all,

I have a problem with PdfCreator on Windows Vista. This problem is happening after updating to the latest release from an old one.

After restarting the PC, the document queue is empty, but as I try to print to the PdfCreator printer, it saves correctly the pdf file and then keeps adding and showing the dialog box for the same file. Even if I try to delete the job from the list it appears again.

I tried to uninstall it and reinstall an old pdfcreator version, I also tried to reset all the settings. But nothing changed and I cannot print to pdf any more.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much.

Gianni

Apparently in some cases PDFCreator is not able to delete the temporary files which are in the spool folder, thus reinitiating again the file storage procedure after writing the created file onto disk.
To overcome this, I changed the permissions for the spool folder, allowing full access to all users.

To do this, log in with administrator rights, open the windows explorer and go to the folder “C:\\Program Files\\PDFCreator\\Temp\\” (change the path to the PDFCreator folder according to your installation); right click on the folder “PDFCreatorSpool” and choose “Properties” and then click on the tab “Security”; add or change the settings of the user group “Users” to “full access” and confirm the changes with OK.

By doing this, the temporary files will be deleted right after PDFCreator stores the created file.

Hi JD,
thank you for your answer.

At last I uninstalled PdfCreator, deleted manually all the realted entries in the Windows register and reinstalled PdfCreator.

Now it works perfectly.

Bye,
Gianni
