Prevention of unauthorized access by changing the security settings doesn't work when pdf file displayed in Firefox

Unauthorized copy of text (through security settings) doesn’t work when pdf file displayed in Firefox browser (OK with IE)

the inbuilt Firefox viewer intentionally ignores any security permissions set for PDFs.
Technically the permissions are always only a recomendation for the viewing software how to handle the file, they don’t actually prevent any modification. Most PDF software respects the settings, but it is basically a design decision.

Best regards,

OK, just too bad, thanks a lot ! :disappointed_relieved:

This means that those pdf security features are of no use to protect a file !

Hi, yes that basically is correct, only a user password truly protects the PDF, as this will add actuall encryption.
