Print queue gets paused

I'm trying to create a bunch of PDFs using PDFCreator 1.2.3 and on occasion a particular print job gets paused and every other document in the queue gets stuck behind it.  The application spawning the print jobs is waiting for 90 seconds and then gives up if the expected file doesn't exist at the auto-save location.

If I open Print Monitor, the stuck document begins printing immediately and the spooled print jobs finally get processed.  I need to let my application run unattended for hours at a time and I can't keep having to go in and check the Print Monitor.  We had been using version 0.9.9 previously and it did the same thing.  This happens whether I use it in Windows 7 or Server 2008.

I see a lot of entries in the Event Viewer as well but I don't know if this is related.  A sample is below:

Faulting application PDFCreator.exe, version 1.2.0.3, time stamp 0x4e684671, faulting module USER32.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03821, exception code 0xc0000142, fault offset 0x00009eed, process id 0xbfc, application start time 0x01cd1d846d44e276.

I should probably add that on the server the applicaiton is installed as a service. On Windows 7 (developer machine) it is not the case.

Hi,

please try using the latest version 1.3.2 and tell us , if the problem still exists.

Version 1.3.2 can't be run as a service at all.  Nothing will print unless a user is logged into the machine.

We are having the same issue on the latest release, (1.2.3). The Print Queue backs up until a user access the PDFCreator monitor. We are running PDFCreator as a Service on a similar Operating System as stated above. We've tried to set the Process ID for PDFCreator to each user instead of the Server but that didn't pan out either. Is there a solution for this?

Hi,

how did you setup PDFCreator to run as service? Did you proceed like described in the manual ( http://www.pdfforge.org/content/using-pdfcreator )?
