Problem with PDF Creator not using correct profile for specific printer

O/S - Winddows NT4

PDF Creator - ver 1.2.3

 

I have a legacy application that prints to 2 printers on the same server. I have created profiles for each printer (PDF Creator printers) and have configured the application to use these printers - I am using the auto save function on both print queues. However, every so often the default profile is used (which I have not configured as an "auto-save" configuration) - this then stops subsequent documents from being saved to folder which then prevents printing of all documents until I manually save the document to one of our print folders.

 

I need the application to run unattended and therefore need to get this issue fixed. In the meantime I have set the default profile to save to one of our print folders - however this is not ideal as documents could be sent to the wrong print folder and therefore printed on the wrong physical printer)

I actually have 4 PDFCreator Printers and 5 profiles (1 default and 4 custom) - should I therefore remove one custom profile and use the default for one of the PDFCreator Printers?

Hi,

 

do you have 3 PDFCreator printers in total? If you have 3 profiles (1 default, 2 custom) but only 2 PDFCreator printers, this could cause the problem.

Hi,

 

normally this shouldn´t be necessary, but I really can´t tell whats wrong from here, it was only a guess that the problem is caused by having more profiles then printers.

OK - I will remove 1 of the custom profiles and use the default profile for that printer - I'll let you know how things go
