I’m trying to update PDFCreator and my antivirus pops up a “Security Alert” for a PUA "containing the pattern of PUA/InstallMonetizer.27650032."
I had a similar Malware problem with a PDFCreator update a couple of years ago (also in this forum.) But the online discussions of this file say it is extremely difficult to remove.
I’m having serious misgivings about PDFCreator, unless you can fix this unwanted malware issue.
Hello,
it is possible there is a false virus threat detection due to the fact an offer screen is loaded during the setup.
It only displays an optional offer and nothing will get installed additionally without your acceptance.
All files on our servers have been checked before uploading.
If you feel uncertain, please see the result if you upload the setup to https://www.virustotal.com/ where most software correctly identifies the file as safe, if something is found, it’s the offer screen mentioned above.
An ad free setup is available here for a small license fee: http://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator/plus

The “InstallMonetizer” your antivirus software found, is responsible for the above mentioned offer screen.
